Dr. Byard is originally from Southwestern Ontario. She has a diploma in Advertising Art from Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology. After working in computer graphics for several years, she returned to school and graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1994. A love of the outdoors brought she and her husband to the west, and she joined the practice in Kamloops after graduation.

She is proud to be part of the smart, dedicated team at Nicola Eye Care and of the high quality of eye care we can provide. She loves interacting with patients every day, and developing relationships with them over the years. Dr. Byard says it is incredible to be a true multi-generational optometrist.

Dr. Byard feels so fortunate to have raised her two daughters in the amazing community of Kamloops. When she’s not in the office caring for our patients, you can find her out enjoying the many wonderful recreational activities available in Kamloops.
